Lot.411 M-1918 Rain Coat Beige
Rooted in early 20th-century military design, the Lot.411 M-1918 Rain Coat by T.T draws inspiration from garments issued to the Civilian Conservation Corps during the New Deal era—pieces that themselves traced back to U.S. cavalry ponchos from 1918. Originally developed for soldiers in the final stages of World War I, the design balances protection with considered ventilation, featuring underarm openings that remain relevant in modern rainwear.
Reinterpreting this historical form, T.T. replaces traditional cotton with a fabric woven from linen and Japanese washi yarn. In Japan, washi has long been treated with natural finishes such as persimmon tannin to enhance durability and water resistance—techniques historically used in rain capes. Here, the garment is dyed with kakishibu, imbuing it with both function and depth of character.
